I would like to hear some good explanation, theory, idea, just something why did the cable rally across the board after GDP data (0.3%) as it was expected and -9.6B current account (-4.5B) expected.

profit taking did not made much sense to me, rally was across the board.

thanks.

Gunjack,

I am from Bosnia (Sarajevo), and live in AZ for a while now, but I always have a great time in Spain, and some dear friends live there.
Yes, ESPN is showing every game, and I am watching the games wherever is the biggest crowd in town, usually English pub "George & Dragon". Always a good crowd.

Ashraf, I like your take on the game Sunday

I would just like to add that Netherlands has the most fouls committed on this tournament (15 yellow cards) and Spain has the least (3). translation of this statistic is that Spaniards have the ball in their possession most of the time, and Dutch always have to "fight" for it. In case of a strict referee this might be a deciding factor in the game. In this match I think that Van Bommel and his style of play might be liability for the Dutch. I bet that referee knows about these stats, and they just "might" interfere with Dutch ruff play.

Germany - Uruguay match tomorrow, I think will go in favor of Uruguay. Main driver will be the desire of Uruguay to place itself in 3rd spot. Germans came to tournament wanting the first place, since that is gone, there is no real motivation for the win.

either way, I am glad that both teams Spain & Holland will have their first title.

deserved win for Holland, and I have to add that Holland was able to hold their own in every match they had so far. What makes me worry about their game is how they bend under pressure (first half with Brazil, and every win was with one goal difference) Germany, in that respect has very, very, convincing wins (3 matches with with more than 3 goals difference). We have to keep in mind that Germany suffered defeat against Serbia, so it is not "unbeatable" like Holland.......so far.
Spain, had a loss as well in the first game against CHF, but what makes me believe that they could win the world cup is that their "game" was consistent throughout the cup. Even in the game they lost, they showed respectable strength.
All the teams that made it so far showed quality and world class skill. There is no way we gonna see some boring football in couple of remaining games.

I would made one call based on previous world cup, where 3rd place was reserved for the unexpected ones. Uruguay-3rd, and let's see about the others

this world cup is much more exciting than the last one in Germany, I think. So much unexpected is happening.
I am not a betting man on a sports but I would like to know the odds that places were offering on the result Argentina 0 - 4 Germany ? Must have been some crazy money.
I am so mad about Uruguay Ghana game. That should not count as a penalty, but as a goal and a red card. With the rules like this we are just encouraging dirty tricks. It just make you wonder why would not every player catch the ball with his hands and receive a penalty with red card. From Uruguay's point the consequences are worth the risk. Receive red card-who cares, because if the ball goes in, there is no next game anyway, Penalty, well that is waaaaaayyyyy better than a goal FOR SURE.
I think; you touch it with the hand on the way to goal, goal counts and you get red card. Let the team of the "handballer" weep and be sorry, like this we have the wrong team out of the competition.

Spain - Paraguay, what a show, crazy finish. Two penalties missed in a row did not happen since 1930 world cup, they say.

still think Spain is the "contender" for a cup, we'll see....... Torres is a bit of a worry.......hope he is going to redeem himself in the "moment of need" and score a goal ( that is his job, right?)

good game, Holland outplayed Brazil in second half. I could not help to notice Van Bommel Kevlar vest for yellow cards. Sneijder was just excellent, as well as was Kaka on this game.
You have to give it to Danny Alvez and how he reacted on Robben trick.

Ashraf,

Great refreshment of the site, love it, it adds the spirit. Maybe I missed it, but if you don't mind, what is the answer in the riddle Holland football- Lehman Brothers.

very exciting day. just like millions of others (maybe billion) I will be glued to TV for the games. To add to the excitement, US holiday weekend starts, and on the end NFP payroll it's gonna kick it off.
As for the teams, I still see Spain as the winner of the world cup, other than that, I just want to see some great football, some great shots, as well as some great saves.
