Even on the reports of massive builds in crude, it will dip slightly and then catch a bid sending it soaring. With oil there are absolutely no fundamentals to support this price. It is just another investment vehicle, like equities or gold. All of which is constantly being propped up by the PPT. Most oil industry people say that fundamentals would have the price around 60-65.

With better GDP it is also possible that investors will feel that gives the Fed reason to continue tightening an become increasingly hawkish. Which is usd positive, gold negative, equities down etc...

I don't know pipped a look at the ES chart right now and I would say the PPT is back in action big time. I figure this audjpy is good for 79.25 at least. After that I will put a stop there and let it ride...see what happens.

Short oil and silver. To me oil seems way too high relative to the recent strength in the USD and weakness in gold. There has also been very significant inventory builds for 3 weeks now, yet on bearish reports the twisted logic has been to buy. I know distillates have been what "they say" is supportive of the oil price. Still it seems very odd that while gold has dropped from 1130 to 1090 and the dollar has been crushing the CAD, the price has been near 80? I think at least a short term target of around 75( which is right around the 50 day sma) is logical.

Pipped - Do you ever look at playing silver along with the gold? The % moves are much bigger and the PPT is far less concerned with its manipulation.

PPT in full force today. cad/jpy ripping higher. I expect a sell-off later though...it is options expiration day!
