Eur is still a short trade....anyone thinking of going long now think again. Being stopped out does not mean direction of trade has changed none of the daily, weekly or monthly charts invalidated YET ...and as for the fundimentals it is obvious which direction you want to be in. The Japanese buying Euro or chinese buying sum junk bonds (well not quite junk) aint going to save the Euro. The Japanese can't intervene to depreciate there own currency.......

pair trading, yes there is maybe room for trailing stops (but not for both positions) under certain conditions... etc but as a principle and generic strategy it is flawed and a bit of a mockery of trading as a skill. I think we should agree to partially agree and partially disagree!!!

Trailing stops are pointless and nonsense. If you go in to a trade based on sound analysis then should never comeout at an arbitary unreferenced stop. This is not good trading and over time not profitable.

Agreed..no plans to short aggressively until clear signal.

Impressive call on short eurusd...Just missed your stop ( i think?)...I had a bigger stop but both of us sitting pretty right now. It was a pretty straightforward trade to be honest....

Check ou daily chart on EURUSD. Price action around 1.4 in last few weeks corresponds pretty much exactly to price action around 1.5 same time last year i.e break of 1.5 small pullback, then higher high and then the HUGE reversal. Uncanny or just good old price behaviour theory. Also noteworthy that news on Euro debt problems, increase in spreads reemerging just like last year....I leave you to ponder...

Ashraf...any thoughts on this
