Unusual FX Action?

Broadening USD weakness is joined by broad yen strength rather than weakness could have implications for FX view on appetite.

sterling is losing ground. Still see large downside potential against dollar and euro this year. All the warning signs are out there but investors still keeping pound range-bound with dollar for now.

Brendan, selling at that elusive $1.4630-40 target is always good idea. but we have to see sub 1.45 for USD rally to have any legs.

Ashraf, where do you see the sterling going from here? It looks like the news as of late has been largely positive for U.K., though its strength could also be attributed to fairly highl levels of risk appetite. I think GBP/USD could be eyeing 1.68 this week if the rally goes on undeterred this week. On the other hand, it appears the yen is losing some of its recent strength - any change in forecast on this for the near term?

I just put this on twitter, Basically, the Aussie still looks unimpressive to me. Look at the last 7 days and how chart remains bearish. Look for prelim target of 0.85, then 0.8420. Despite Shanghai's close at 3026. we need to see a close above 3060--50% retracement of the decline from the 3480 all time high to the 2640 low.

Hey Ashraf,

Do you have any thoughts on the AUD after the minutes of their meeting tonight?

Also, how do you feel about Shanghai closing above 3000? If I'm not mistaken, you said that would be something to watch for in one of your recent videos.
