Think I spoke to quickly on USDJPY...the speed of the move down hints at further test of 80.8 and lower

Yeah, I tend to avoid that pair for that kinda reason, also I don't like intervention threats although that would be in your favour. Perhaps its why Ashraf calling gbpjpy

Only thing troubling is how USD refuses to rally against JPY on a day when it's doing well against everyone else and Oil and USDX and in its favour

@Xaron - Have joined you in the long usdjpy camp...have opened a small long at 81.2 in a march 2011 forward...will ave down in case we hit all time lows in the coming few weeks. Am hoping the old adage of buying when all else are selling will hold true in next few months

Ashraf -

My query re your Oct 10 post prompted also by your post of Aug 18 thus:

'As long as markets expect the Fed to engage in a new round of asset purchases later this year, chances of operational (not verbal) FX intervention from Japan are minimal'

Ashraf - are you suggesting that the BOJ will then successfully depreciate the JPY, and for some considerable amount of time?

Many thanks,

John
