Depends a bit on what timeframes you wish to play. For intra day the gbpusd and eurusd are two of the most liquid pairs with tight spreads and with good daily ranges but the time zone for these pairs may not suit you. I would say to stay away from JPY and CHF pairs.
Less volatile pairs which can trend well are GBPAUD, AUDUSD, EURAUD. You have a lot of choice but probably wise to focus on just one or two pairs and become expert with their characters. gt and gl.

I'm trying to get back into the trdaing game, any advice on what pairs to start with?

London are convinced they are out to weaken the city's current status as #2 financial centre of the world second only to NY. EU continues to be a thorn in the side of GREAT Britain.
