Speculators' Futures FX Positions

The weekly figures on traders' futures commitments obtained from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange's International Monetary Market shed valuable light on the developing flows pursuing one currency versus another.

hamish, as always, careful with ur stop placement. We're seeing a typical short squeeze, shaking off the risk aversion players ahead of the Fed. I cannot imagine stocsk to preserve their gains once Fed signals no more Trsy buys.

Hamish, spec, nothing goes up in a straight line. my next target is at 1.1120 so this is a great time to enter. The usual consolidation before FOMC. But i believe we'll have fresh wave of risk aversion after the FOMC as markets will fear the Fed will no longer extend QE. And oil is a great short at 71.00.
USDCAD was up in 5 out of the last 6 sessions so time for a possible temporary retreat. Support at 1.08750

hamish, what USDCAD short are u talking about?? Ive been calling for long USDCAD 400 pips ago 7 days ago. yesterday i said fade the pulbbacks which means remain long USDCAD (if not open new longs) as i repetitively mentioned 1.1120 as next target. so not sure where you brought the SHORT from???
