for audjpy i believe its better to sell at 87.30, 87.50, 87.70 and 88 preference is no stops as we are seeing a broadening pattern which has more likely chances to break below than towards upside. A upside will be an opportunity to add more shorts. If i correlate all the moves in fx i see aud going down, jpy may not see 95 euro 1.29 gbp 1.48 . Damn Ashraf is right and spot on.

jpy has been consolidating for a long time now in search of a break and now i think it will be to the upside. we are going to see 97 soon , however i will still prefer to sell it at 94.50 and 94.75, not planning to buy usdjpy unless we see 92 as the risk reward ratio is too bad however in selling we have a good risk reward, untill it breaks above 95.

shane, good point. The RBA rate hike may not take place as CHina tightens further.

Does Yuan revaluation have a more general effect on USD (i.e. other than on USD/JPY)?

chloe, Rob

The thinking is that china reval helps its Asian partners therefore booosts their FX including the yen.

CHloe, i said China may revalue currency and NOT to tighten policy. If teh latter then more negative for appetite but i do not see how revaluation will hurt markets. It did not on July 2005

Ashraf,

Please excuse my ignorance on this whole China Revaluation. How will this affect the FX markets? And USD/JPY in particular. I take it that it would be more USD positive than JPY positive. Thanks.
