Gunjack,

Are you trying to say that we don't know that you're trying to say the "daily tabloid" is the Sun?! :p NOW I know how you spend your evenings on the underground! C'mon cheeky...now now...you weren't looking for a 'gold head & shoulder' in there, were YOU...?! ;)

Gold at 1332 is COMPLETELY senseless! Whenever it does, it'll be a -80 rout in two sessions.

Oil at 82?! You've got to be on ANOTHER planet - a derivative of the earth! No worries, I'm going short - can't complain on the money I'll make, will I?

P.S. Seriously, why IS oil on 82? Makes NO sense...

AMG,

Obviously, if gold & oil are to tank (in coming days), USD will have to shoot up! Agree...

Ashraf,

Hi! Long time no speak! :)

Was reading Peter Cruddas interview in the ES yesterday & realised how far CMC has come. What I would've appreciated is if he had put in some names of people who have helped develop CMC into the brand that it is today. It's not just a Goldmanite & "investment bankers" that have alone built the brand?

What else? Have not being following your calls recently...but could blindly say they must be ᢒ% accurate! Hope you're doing well o/wise too...

P.S. Hey, where's speculator nowadays?

Gunjack,

Sorry mate, but my work has been keeping me on the roads recently! Thanks v/ much for missing me though.

I've not 'traded' recently, albeit I've kept a close eye on my open positions - crude 75 short and gold (rare!) 1251 long - during this time.

Well, my hunch? Add to the crude short and close the gold position. And I do believe that taking profits at the high-1290s for anyone (at least from where I went long) would be a good idea.

Okay, let me do this & we'll chat soon... ;)

Lucky,

You answered the question yourself! :) Chinese PMI this Thu should set the course for crude - we all know what that's going to be.

P.S. There's ONE asset class that none has ever discussed - real estate. Any ideas in & around London (hint: distressed RE). Ashraf?

Look, there was absolutely NO reason for oil to run to 75 like it did yesterday...except, ofcourse, insanity & irrationality!

Barring the ME scenario, I repeat & reiterate, oil is heading lower & most certainly heading to 70 (even as we speak). Yeah, common sense doesn't apply to market (how else would we make/lose money?), but even an ill-focussed analysis would tell you the sluggish demand for oil matched by uber-flowing inventories!

Why else then, except the ME scenario, should I bet on a rising crude...??

Said,

Technically, no...fundamentally, YES!

Bear in mind that ONE-THIRD of the world's DAILY oil supply directly, or indirectly, passes through the Strait of Hormuz (largely home to Iran). Iran minces NO words about blocking the Strait in the scenario of a military "misadventure", leading to a supply shock.

In such an event, WHO stands to lose the most?! Ofcourse, the world's largest oil consumer...and the closest ally to Israel...

P.S. STILL thinking long!

Ashraf,

I understand where you're coming from...but 21/8 could well be the last straw for Israel! On this day, Russia is providing fuel rods to Iran...fitting which, into the reactors, will complete its cycle for delivering nuke-headed weapons.

This time, the rumors could WELL become a reality...

P.S. The fact that the rumors aren't THAT intense this time are another indication?
