Yes the financial market moves in random way, i.e it is impossible to forecast price movement in the short term yet alone in the long term.

I wish somebody had told me last year that a year from now AUD will be 18% , 12% higher against the Euro and USD respectively

Aud shoulld fall by approximatly 2% from it is friday close; i.e it is heading gradually towards 0.9840 in the next few days

It is very simple click attach chart and chose the currency pair and time frame , you can add trend line to the chart and comment as well.

AUD/USD trending higher in every time frame from 5 minute, 15 minute, 30 minute, 1 hour , 4 hour, day, weekly and monthly.
First rule "always trade with Trend, Trend is your friend".

The Australian dollar best performing currency in 2010,
It is at 10 years high against the Kiwi almost at parity with US dollar ,at 8 years high against the Canadian Loonie.
just look at the EUR/AUD it is in free fall, new all time low every day.
