I really doubt if the ECB is going to cut rates next month.

Italy's Prime Enrico Letta will now form government. Talks with
Berlusconi successful.
Don't think that will boost EUR but may have influence on Italy sov bonds and MIB index.

seems to be a lot of anti euro feeling brewing across europe without the UK getting all the blame. Meanwhile the currency is comatosed.

Is there anything positive to be said for the euro in the context of:-

It causing immense pain and suffering to millions of innocent ordinary folk, not just the young unemployed many of whose lives can be written off.

The necessity for a resolution which amounts to all member states relinquishing their sovereignty to be replaced by a German dictator. Now we don't want any of that again, do we ! Is this the price for so-called "peace" across europe ?

The common currency was always doomed from the very start, well documented. I think that is now extremely well proven. How much longer is the destruction of innocent lives to persist trying to prove the failed experiment can be salvaged. Unfortunately these are largely lives of the innocent, not the deserved conspirators.

I am thinking beyond our ability to trade the euro. There are plenty or other instruments to keep us busy.

I see no reason against a european trading union bringing together common interests. Its the common currency now proven to be a weapon of mass destruction.
