Dear Ashraf ,

If you think BOE hike the rate , then GBP will inrease?

If yes , then at which price you advise to buy GBP accurately?

Thanks a lot.

"I don't think rates will start rising until the first quarter of 2012, but when they do, I think they will go up at a fairly chunky pace," said Alan Clarke, economist at BNP Paribas.

Mr Clarke is forecasting a rise of two percentage points overall in 2012, which would take rates up to 2.5pc by the end of that year.

Sir John Gieve, the former Bank of England deputy governor, said last month that he expected interest rates to rise at a quicker pace.

"I am expecting a recovery when that is strongly established I'd expect rates to start rising faster than the market currently expects. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see interest rates at 2.5pc a year from now," he said.

twigins, BoE expects inflation to start slowing down as it has done so over the past 2 months. Sentance wants to raise rates as he tinks inflation will go higher but BoE says money supply growth is weak, wage growth is stable and austerity policies will drive inflation DOWN not up.

Ashraf, viewed your video. If England is experiencing inflation =ɮ%, why would they risk pushing it higher by lowering their purchasing power (devaluing their currency). Unless the expect further deflation in the products they import? Heading into winter, food and energy costs will rise. Any risk of public backlash to the beaurocrats and government in raising the inflation?

Also, since not increasing their net balance sheet, replacing interest bearing bonds with others .. why does the marketplace feel this would devlaue the Stirling?

Would you expect the marketplace to figure this out ... only a reaction move, therefore quickly recover to current valuation after a week or so?

Is it a seasonal thing that whatever cable does in Sep-mid Nov, will likely start ot reverse in mid Nov to end of Dec.?

So, say hypothetically cable drops to 1.48 up to mid Nov, it would then rise further in the remainder of year?

accutrader, these are tough questions..i can see a retest pf 1.48 between now and mid Q4 but hard to tell where it will be at year-end. Just take note that whatever GBP would do in Sep-mid Nov, will likely start ot reverse in mid Nov to end of Dec.
