Its too large and too diverse to manage properly Catnip. Same probably applies to the US. Wherever you have "large" you have big problems. Look at Russia, the lazy people who became lazy under communism.

We have a joke in UK with a lot of truth. The French and Germans make all the rules for the English to obey. The French obey what they want to obey and ignore the rest. EU is a farce.

And our schools are forced to cater for 32 different cultures but its politically incorrect to have morning prayers for church of england. World gone barmy. No wonder our education system is always struggling.

Last year and this year the public ripped our politicians apart on their expense accounts and all the fraud. I bet you can't do that with the european parliament.

Its one of the things I dislike about the EU. I was always brought up to believe we are not born with any "rights", we have to earn our rights. Now we have the EU impose their silly ideas across the board and human rights law is responsible for many ills. People can forget about the laws of nature and become paracites.

You are generally right. After 2008 the leaders of all major western economies have become communists in view of their actions.
