@chloe, I too can't make up my mind on AUDUSD short .... For NOW it appears the AUDUSD is highly correlated to #SPX (#Gold) which want to push upwards with this Santa rally. Not sure I am ready to short either one of those although would love to get views from the forum ....

Also, AUDUSD short is against the sentiments in Australia at a psychologically level, ie, there's a big sense of national pride (grass-roots level) and celebration to see the AUD hit parity. Frankly, there's no logic to this parity sentiment; and even sound silly ... What's interesting though is that ASX is not hitting 5,000 levels this week ....

Anyone betting on PBOC to raise rates today? Sounds like the CPI still under their target of 3% may have taken off the pressure?

Can anyone share technical-analysis on the USDX? My charting-platform only has June-contract so not sufficient datapoints. Is 79/80 level still considered a strong support level using horizontal lines. On the upward trendline (limited datapoints), it seems broken, and seems like a failure to close above 82.

Ashraf, do you have any revised outlook in term of what levels you see USDX in coming months?

Hi Ashraf, do you still see GBPUSD going down anytime soon, now that the GAP is filled and still going up? Also, I understand that election was a key factor in the bearish outlook; now that its just month away, and it doesn't seem to have any negative impact on cable? It seems all other catalysts, such as additional QE, et al, does it look like its going to some in affect anytime soon? Thanks. Callum

@taniral - I'd first wait for USDJPY break below 92. I see ~92.40 (23% fib level between decades low and this years high) and possibly 30-March (sub 92) low as potential support. Momentum indicators point further down. US Equity futures down but we've seen this in past weeks, ie, starts off negative but goes higher through the US trading session.

I see chatter about commodity pricing helping propel GBP. I am trying to connect to the dots here, but since, Chinese currency appreciation is positive for commodities, this should drive GBP higher?? Does this logic have any merits?

I wanted to get group feedback on my naive view on AUD/USD for today/tomorrow.

We are so close to the upcoming Aust job data during the asian trading session, and would be key to see whether AUD/USD break above 93 handle, and ASX 200 above 5,000 psychological level. Perhaps simplistic, should the jobs data printed tomorrow comes extradinarily positive, it might just be enough to make it above 93. There are other attributes that might just grease the wheels, especially as we seen some recent breakdown of resistance / support levels despite stronger USD 1) Gold's breakout upwards today 2) Oil still pretty high 3) USDCAD near parity.

With the exception of last months Aust jobs data, AU jobs number has a good track record of extraordinarily better-than-expected-job-figures, so this shouldn't be a surprise. How much of this is priced-in??

Whether it holds above 93 for a day or more, I would love to get views from others on this forum.

Hi Ashraf, with Oil potentially headed to 89, and whether you have any new possible level beyond parity? Thank you.
