I have no idea about Gold. Sure the US notes yields point to lower gold futures but if it is correct
ETFs are merely sinks to attract gold interest into paper gold not backed by physical gold...
shouldn't physical gold skyrocket?

Long USD/GBP? Yes. Will work but only if there is no hype about EUR. Anyway as UST 2 y yield falls
and 2y 10 y spread fall too that is support for USDx.

Imo Greece is already out of focus. Greece was/is like a cheerleader or a canary in a mine but is fundamentally not a big problem. As far as I see from CDS the next and that is really big target is France. However I expect no extraordinary moves in EUR/USD in the coming week. The real storm is still brewing. Also I believe DOW will hover above 11000 could break 11000 to drop to 10700 by end of week. I think this won't be very likely. No one could harm GS as GS has a desastrous bomb, derivatives that easily outdo Lehman's.

Yes FX trading could be suicide that must be handled with an option strategy.

Here we go...
Germanys financial regulator, Bafin, asked the SEC for details on the suit, a spokesman for Chancellor Angela Merkel said.

Politicians that were forced to bail out their banks during the financial crisis are turning on Goldman, which critics say helped caused the turmoil and profited from it. The European Union is also probing Goldmans role in arranging swaps for Greece that may have masked the countrys budget deficit.

Can IQ be negative a black hole that does not only not emit information but sucks up all IQɬ thus that eventually total IQ is 0 ?
YES! YES IT CAN!
Bafin is a bunch of overpaid govt officials who are ok they work all night and they sleep all day....
Eustat is as big as Bafin but has EU officials who are paid 3 times that of the Bafin thinkers...
spell the word "work" please ... huh? never heard that word.

This is going to outdo the best sketches of Monty Pythons.

Wait wait.... the idea of the genius of monetary policy, Chancellor Merkel is Germany quits Maastricht
treaty ( that is permitted ) and announces Euro II solid_as_a_rock. This is because France is in the crosshairs .... but none of this will happen tomorrow if the meeting is not postponed at all due to the
volcano ashes and restriction of air traffic. So wait I think short gets a bit cheaper before it explodes.

Perhaps this volcano eruption could prevent the meeting of a bunch of idiots taking place in Athens?
This were indeed something good. Chancellor Merkel's remake of Blitzsieg.... ashes to ashes dust to dust ... I hope the volcanic ashes could revoke cold reason and cease bubble talk.

Paulson is not yet in crosshairs. I am long gold because speculation heats up physical gold backing ETFs and such does not exist. I am not sure but it could be some holders of ETF might want to see real gold when they liquidate positions.

I tend to think oil plunges as Goldman is a major speculator in crude. I believe DOW will return uptrend up to 11300 and then crash . Just a failure of disclosure of conflicts is not such a big story we had such here plenty of times and always the banks came out stronger than before ( it created some new jobs at banks ) . DOW will crash due to China issues .

Well these are just assumptions by MS.... but in the way how, if at all, politicians think it makes sense.
I will go short EUR/USD Monday as I expect Germany to balk bailout at the Athens conference that could well yield 1.32 I also expect Germany will between the lines raise rumors of a divided Euro.
So that could be a turning point. I think that Belgium Netherlands Finland might signal some consent while France will not. It is also possible UK might join one or the other Euro. Nevertheless it is the begin of the end of the story but trades love wild swings especially if these are predictable.
