"Goldman's chief FX strategist, Thomas Stolper, however, said in an e-mail the bank remains constructive on the euro and expects it to hit $1.40 in three months, $1.45 in six months, and $1.50 in one year."
Catnip, are you working for Goldman, are you their chief FX strategist?
catnip read this about your beloved USA. News from today: A growing number of families are relying on public and private assistance programs to make it through the month. Nationally, food stamp use is at record highs and climbing. The U.S. Department of Agriculture reports that one in eight Americans uses food stamps to help buy food, and there doesnt appear to be an end in sight to that ever-escalating number. In three years, the number of people using food stamps grew from 26 million to 42 million.
Hunger is a real problem right here in our local community. Children are going to bed without food, working adults are skipping meals to pay housing and energy costs, and seniors are choosing between food and medications. Hungry adults cannot perform well in the workforce. Hungry students cannot learn, compromising their futures. http://auburnpub.com/lifestyles/article_3482f6c2-07d3-11e0-9009-001cc4c03286.html
catnip continues to foresee the end of days in Europe. Catnip, why are you so angry at Europe? Move to LA and follow the American Dream if that's gonna soothe your anger.
catnip, you still do not get :) Merkel is playing her game. She does not care about PIGS and other animals. She is happy with the weak euro as this stimulates German exports. Period.
What I wanted to say is the majority of market players is expecting the euro to fail because EU is in deepest shit but USA is no better. So what is to expect? Just ask yourself? Which one can surprise to the upside? Of course the euro because virtually everyone expects it to fail.
Dave, agree on the demographics issue. That is why the social security systems in these major developed economies are imploding. There is no easy solution if any at all. One possible is to allow immigrants but that of course is a double bladed sword. In any case tougher times are ahead for these countries.
