What's the view in terms of the Monday's trade in light of the impact of Japan earthquake / tsunami?

As we looking at the melt-down of USD/JPY below 80?

Alarming is turbine water . If radiation got into and 'heated up' the turbine room...

My understanding is that the turbine water is supposed to be completely, COMPLETELY isolated circuit from core coolant / heat exchange.

Thus there is very little chance to prevent core melting. It is almost certain.

they are saying it will take some time to make preperations to release pressure. Radiation levels now 8 x normal levels at main gates of the plant.

grave concerns about the Fukushima nuclear plant . The primary cooling system relies on batteries which lst for 8 hours. Main cooling failed due to loss of electric grid mains power, backup cooling as the diesel egines were knocked out by the earthquake . It is a very dangerous situation for Japan. Although the reactors were immediately turned off, it needs 48 hours of cooling. the storage pool for highly radioactive irradiated nuclear fuel is also at risk as it requires permanent cooling.
