Portugal is likely to default this week according to JPM from today, while there is no doubt that Greece and Ireland will default, too. It is a question of weeks, not months.
Support for Gaddafi grows in Libya and elsewhere in Muslim world.

Its beginning to feel like rates will have to rise across the board in spite of dismal growth prospects and perma high unemployment in the yrs ahead. Inflation numbers are very understated if the true cost of living is guaged, which it isn't for UK, US and EUR. Unfortunately we have an irreconcilable inbalance between emerging economies growth path and the rest who in truth are still in recessionary and deleveraging mode. I see double dip laying ahead and the next round will be very ugly, not to mention another bank crisis for desserts. How else can they try to control commodity prices which are causing the "external" inflation. Rate increases will simly speed the inevitable ending.

@forum, im not 100% on how the ecb works or who makes up it board membersor how policies are implemented, but i find it strange that eurzone members who are in trouble haven;t spoke out against the hawkish talk from some of its member..i always thought that the hike would weigh on the zones who are in trouble(pigs)so i lil supresed no dissenting comments:(..gl guys:)
