Dave J, the unemployment # ticking down a pip seemed to trigger the realisation that dissafection in the labour force has been ever rising, something of course we have known about for many months. Sometimes u wonder where the mkt keeps its brain, DSK springs to mind, another strange frenchman :-)

yes digi, he talks about 75% tax for the rich and undoing much of what Merkosy relationship negotiated over months and months of grind. Then eBonds would be a wonderful solution for an easy return to fiscal irresponsibility to kick the pain further down the road. Euroland is already a laughing stock, not sure how much more circus the mkts will tolerate.

The socialist (would be first since Mitterand ended in '95) is apparently pro tax hikes...and wants to jump on the financial industry's back...as far as the euro- take a page out of Bernanke's book eg. pro euro bonds etc...

..some pos' correlation going on between yen and usd here as 'flight to safety' continues...

...terrible us job numbers this morn +115K vs +160K... looking like the increasing potential of Hollande beatin' Sarkozy in the weekend elections is helping push eurusd lower...

...somewhat skeptical of the 1.30 handle giving way at this time...hearing there are some heavy buyers down there...however, patience...can be a very enriching virtue...
