Oil Weakness May Intensify

Oil sluggishness may risk turning into a faster selloff, especially as the fuel fails to gain on recent USD losses.

Frankly, ANYONE can read this off the FT (or simply Google it) & post it here. I could've done this & answered myself. But this is not the reason. Sorry!

I can't believe this. The "George Soros" of this forum doesn't understand the basics of the crude market. Honestly I don't know whether to laugh or tell you to stop trading until you learn the fundamentals...The huge oil inventories at cushing and weak demand in the Atlantic basin has driven down the price of WTI and created the WTI-Brent discount. I understand this and I never ever traded oil....

Ashraf,

How come there's a ~$2.5 difference b/w crude and brent, and the latter trading higher (as opposed to the opposite)?

Forum,

...and so oil reaches it's logical weekend-end! :) Another successful trading week comes to an end. I know some other guys had shorts - Raj (you didn't get your 69?), Karan and another guy from S'pore.

Interesting what happens next week...

My remaining oil shorts are also meant to close around yours - 69.50. Let's see (we might see it tomorrow - traders luuuurvvv playing games at the w/end). I closed majority at 72.70...

Fastpips,

Thanks! While we can attribute the weakness in oil to a strong USD, fundamentals are also playing their part. Finally, 'they' are realising that the economies are STILL in a recession...and that there's a strong demand/supply imbalance, favoring supply...
