Don't Forget the Yen

Much ado about USD rebounds during falling markets, but JPY strength still outperforms USD.

Hola Ashraf,
With a busy week of movement in other crosses everyone forgot about USDJPY it seem. I wondering how you see USDJPY ending this week? It bounced off nicely at 90.35 so do you think it is ready to go higher again? What is your outlook for how this pair close the week?
Thank you,
Maria.

Hi Ashraf,

China GDP up 10.7%, above 10% which you had mentioned. Do you see a tightening to come in play? Which means risk aversion is back? Is it a good time to long USDJPY now?

Thank you!

It feels like usd wants to pull back here. euro at 1.4092. We'll see what legs it has if it gets its head back above 1.4100. It's been quite a run for usd, and a pullback would be healthy, allow fresh shorting opportunities.

Regarding GBPUSD, i would want to call the break of 1.6350. But I must NOT be hasty and better wait for tomorrow's UK CPI (see latest IMT).
