THANKS ASHRAF!

Loaded up on gold & silver shorts starting Sunday until my last gold entry at 1104. Woke up this morning and found out I had been printing money all night. Oh yeah, I did catch some of that cadjpy as well.

Can anyone explain the timing of this morning's sharp fall?
It didn't fall quite as far as expected in the Asian session then around 0900-1000 GMT, it fell down with a bang, to 1089.8 - very profitable for me thank you! - but I'm not clear why it would have fallen just then. Is this pre-Bernanke nerves or what?

It's crawling up through the 1093s-1094s as I type.

Can't see anything in the free news services and I don't have any subscription news.

No corresponding dramatic moves in cable or Euro that I could see.

ROB, yes theres 50-100 day DEAD CROSS in Gold (mentioned in todays article) but its track record has been quite poor in Gold. Not as good as in EURUSD or USDX. It has a big delay.

I will be on CNBC US with Erin Burnett & Mark Haines Wednesday 9:40 EST (14:40 GMT)

@Pipped: you could also refer to them as weathervanes, c.f.http://wapedia.mobi/en/Weather_vane

Alternatively, bearing in mind the traditional use of the cockerel design (as mentioned in that article), you could also use the related name which is common in England, which I won't mention here as it might be thought by some to be a bit rude, and this is a family board :-)
