@chloe-first time in a long time I am not sure what to do. Confused by the move down in USDJYP even thought U.S. yields have trickled up -among other things.

I would have thought the Greek news, which was known to be today, was factored in in the asian rally on Monday.

@coolshades - I am also keen to get Ashraf's answer on correlation on snow.

Here's my naive understanding. Extreme snow weather hampers manufacturing, and thus impacts manpower - the casual workers. People can't get to work. Anything outdoor related can come to a grind. This could provide less than expected payroll. Bad data is positive USDX, and bad for equities. Bad equities drives JPY lower.

Ashraf,

a query - why should the snow lead to $ strength? if the snow impacts on the NFP figures, it should leade to $ weakness shouldnt it?

I think I'll give up trading currencies and commodities and just "buy and hold" stock in RKK's bank.
