yer right of course android but here's how I try to work things. I have a trading fund built up over some years. About 45% of the fund is spread across 5 brokers and remaining 2 brokers minimal funding as I hardly use them. I only deposit what I need for comfortable working margin on each account so I withdraw profits back to sleeping fund on a regular basis. I only use regulated brokers of course fwiw. There is no fullproof method I realise but if brokers ever start going down like flies I hope to be speading my risk and creating a window of opportunity to make alternative arrangements. If they all went down the tubes together I should feel rather grumpy :-)

We all end up down in the ground where we cannot take our accounts with us whether 1, 2 or 7.

I have had an account with CMC since they first started as deal4free early in the last decade. After about 3 years I gave up using them for intra day trading as the dealer desk became less than honest :-) I kept the account open and tried them once every year to see whether the execution had improved. I understand their new web browser platform is ecn and although spreads are a little wider than the more competitive brokers the execution should be a lot better with no dealer desk intervention. I keep meaning to try it again, especially for position trades. I have about 7 other broker accounts and spread margin around not wishing to rely on the world getting through the financial crisis which may well be far from ending.
