The "nonsense" I have referred to throughout this thread is the idea that the Fed are ready to taper any time soon. The Fed have got themselves into an almighty mess with their failed QE experiment but now they are stuck with it. The US economy is far from mended, there are serious problems still outstanding and debt continues to rise.

The only reason Bernanke wishes to introduce a very small measure of tapering is so he can step down in the knowledge that he put this in place himself during his term in office. I don't expect the tapering to last more than a brief moment to satisfy his conscience. It is just a gesture.

As things stand the FOMC will be loosing a lot of experience next year, not just Bernanke. Yellen would be a comparatively experienced and safe pair of hands to replace Bernanke.

George, how you manage to relate Assad to the Fed is beyond my understanding. 2 different issues that AL referred to. As for me "killing everyone" what drivel is this I see before me? what have you been smoking?

As for Assad, let's see if he comes clean with the first week's requirement to declare ALL his chemical weapons compounds.
