AUD behaves more rationally with gains and decent losses as risk goes on/off, plus it has many times the yield as CAD. CAD on the other hand only strengthens with risk and doesn't give up anything which is highly manipulative.
CIBC world markets notes that 2 yrs back when CAD was at these levels oil/commodities were way higher, so CAD seems to be getting way ahead of itself.
Guess the only rational thing for us canadians to do is to keep shopping across the border given that we are so far away from PPP, bring down canadian retail sales figures (we probably wont see that soon with the olympic spending), and then the market will respond!! Of course the big sharks in the mean time want to run through all the stops before reversing!!

Many months ago, a bad canadian report would lead to 100-200pip gains in usdcad in several hours. Now big market players are stopping it in its tracks to avoid technical breakouts. As Ashraf noted in his video, there was a trifecta of bad canadian numbers in the last few days, plus oil retrated to under 80. What does USDCAD do in last 24 hours?, sell off to close to its 1.0255 low from days ago!!

It is hard to imagine new rational entrants shorting usd/cad at these levels. Too many weak longs in USD/CAD at the moment perhaps??

In my last post, i meant to say 1 AUDUSD contract has MORE $ value than 1 NZDUSD ... not Smaller.

I agree.. AUD/NZD seems to be peaking..... better to Short AUDUSD, and hedge with Long NZDUSD??, note since value of 1 contract in AUDUSD is smaller than NZDUSD, it is not exactly same as shorting AUDNZD, and probably you get more net gains from movements if AUDUSD is going down.??

bubbles, so are you betting on increasing rates? Eurodollar futures are for interest rate moves, or did you mean shorting EURUSD at 1.40ish?
