gunjack you want to play a 12pip upside ? on a right shoulder? good luck. I was just about to ask the opposite that with ftse dow both gaining we only see a small gain in S&P. With results not offering anything more than we really deep down expected and nearing the top of our ranges, i am looking to a retreat, USD strength, dip in oil again. But it's more a coin flip, but not much more GBPUSD 16437 as i write this.

Ahraf, i see when i wrote that it was looking like a market rally, interesting that the market wasn't impressed with Goldmans big results, in fact it seemed to add to the 'more regulation' argument.
The S&P analogy needs the Grim Reeper to come visiting , finally VIX maybe starting to twitch http://sentimentrader.blogspot.com/2009/07/vix-predicting-futureand-its-cloudy.html

of course you answer this in the tweet, we have our eyes peeled for the fabled S&P head & shoulders to finally complete!

NZDUSD why would that be short when we could have more S&P rally wouldn't that weaken USD and give a bit more legs to NZD ? VXN down to 25.83, 9month low, could this be another mini rally?

Ashraf i have 16386 as a fibonacci retracement from 158low 167 high, if data isn't too bad AND we breach this do you think 16560? why has gold rallied relative to dollar weakness ? or is this fairly normal correlation? im trying to understand correlation strength in FX vs commodities, but am finding it tough with so much hokery pokery by various gov.

gold now @914.90 do you think gold really has the legs left in it to get higher ? im inclined to agree with raulin, isn't gold being used as a hedge against inflation, if the results are lack lustre that would send a message we are in for a very shallow recovery?
i think we have seen as much market shock financially, if we end up bouncing along +-1% growth might aswell be in stocks with a dividend right? just my thoughts, it hinges on results this week but Poland and Japan have been a little more upbeat about their economies today.
