@AVG, I won't call it totally strange. You may have noticed that the pair moved up a bit ahead of the news, and the data wasn't exactly a blow out to give a significant pop . As for my own trades, I was able to close out my longs I had placed much earlier (SG morning) with a few pips. There are some tier 1 US data ahead, so, I am sitting on the sidelines as the GBPUSD pair flirts around the mid 1.52 region.

Hi AVG ,

my understanding is that there is revision for the previous 3rd Q Data and the overrall yoy fig as slightly lower then expected and that is what has caused the curry. to drop.

UK GDP data came in better than expected, yet initial reaction was downward. Sounds like it wants to get prepared for a spring up??

Went long GBP/CHF at 1.6460. We're coming close to possible intervention levels (SNB). Just a countertrend trade with a tight stop at 1.6420.

in my opinion cable will be the worst performer this year because of uk monetary abuse which will be worst than anyone else's along with their fiscal issues. speculators will bring the currency down to its knees again.

Poor Cable-you'd think some of this bad news was factored in already, like 600 pips ago. Or 1200 pips a go five weeks ago, when GOLDman pimped cable at 1.6450.
