Strictly speaking, I was wrong to say the fundamentals hadn't changed since yesterday, since we have had a good data release for the GBP (IMT of April 9, 2010 09:48 GMT). However, the deeper, structural fundamentals haven't changed, IMHO. I don't deny there might be more upside to come, and better places to short though. Of course it depends on one's trading style, etc.

@Shane: I fully understand your point, Shane. My short from 1.5372 was a b/e trade and Im now waiting. USD shows a kind of weakness.

you are right about the fundamentals and i am not saying that it will go above 1.60, the only question is why should i hold my losses if i can short it again at higher point like 1.5480 and obviously a weekly close above 1.53 or a break of 1.54 will only suggest a short term higher move to 1.58 maximum and that can also be wrong. anyways its just about risk management i am talking about here and in no way i am in favor or suggesting a higher gbp.

Too early to short GBPUSD... better would be at 5429.. otherwise short for only the odd 40 pips

Hi to every one,Shane i think this is the turning point and i bet on the short side as well. gdpusd is now 50d MA, stochastic at high end with downward move (i remember Ashraf said one time this is rare but precious), 3-top formation in 4hr chart etc etc... all technicals suggest resistance,Like u pointed out the key is weakly closed.
I did shorts 153.80 let see how it play.
Thanks

Well the 1.53 or whatever "resistance" didn't "hold", but what the heck; the fundamentals haven't changed since yesterday. It's just another shorting opportunity in my book.
Your mileage may vary.

Gold is another story entirely, IMHO.
