i agree with all the points made on here. Argentina won ONLY 1-0 but if it werent for Nigeria's goalkeeper, Messy would have scored a hatrick. The SthAFrican and Nigerian goalies were brillian and must give special courses to Algeria and England Goalies. I was bitter and disgusted at the Algeria-Slovernia games. Why on earth didnt Saadane remove Yebda/

Italy looked sloppy but very much needed the imagination of Pirlo. Italy, always the luckiest team in the world, were thankful for the Paraguayan keeper's inexplicable miss.

Cameroon lost but were unlucky with those runs from Etoo and the crossbar from 27 yards. I wish them luck against Denmark. Holland remains my favourite to take it all.

Germany looked most impressive so far but no ue of making superlatives at this early stage.

Both S.Korea and Japan won which makes Asia's performance the best so far as continents are concerned.

Moodys waited for the Greece game against Argentina before downgrading to junk. They mighty as well as downgrade teh otehr keeper's to junk.

For those who like to watch lots of goals, brazil-North Korea could should produce at least 5 or 6 goals..unless all 10 Nkorean players retreat to their own penalty box and stay there all the time.

More to come later in the Cup.

Ashraf,

My envy is boundless buddy! (RE: "Watching Italy lose w the roar of lions + tigers nearby. Pretoria."). Just joking, you genuinely deserve the diversion.

Not 'my" favorite, but the German "Machine" looked VERY impressive. Should make for a strong 16 when the powerhouses begin their battles.

I like the blend of youth and flair in the German side, compared to England's overpaid and overpriced players. I think Algeria could shock England and the amazing masterplan of Capello, of hitting the ball long to heskey/crouch and hoping for something to happen

As in each world cup German begin in force the continuation will be harder for them as it is the tradition...
It's a pity for the algeria which according to me deserved the victory and now it could be more harder for them against England and USA...
Today we are going to follow holland animals while preparing the trading plan of the week.

I guess if you are busy watching football (soccer) these days, You might be a trader.

EEMEA MIDDAY: Sentiment Continues to Improve, Spreads Tighten LONDON, June 14 (IFR)-The sentiment continues to improve with credit spreads tighter this morning. Although trade volumes remain thin, with lack of selling dominating the London trading floors in what is a typical Monday lethargy, most of the market players` attention is turned to South Africa as the World Cup 2010 continues.
Football matches in South Africa are competing for investor attention with many of them following the sporting event while some blue chip names could potentially print their deals this week if the tone continues to improve.

I don't think that Green (England) will be the only one extending his stay in S.A., Kuzmanovic (Serbia) will keep him company.

Germany-Australia 2:0 in 26th minute. This game looks like disaster for Australia so far....

If we pull together, we can still take the lot.

Good luck out there
