Global Interest Rates

Interest rates are the single most important fundamental driver in Forex and the direction of monetary policy is essential in shaping developments in currencies. This direction is determined by the vast array of economic reports, central bank rhetoric and movements in equity and bond markets.

chloe, the RBA has no logical impact on USDCAD. People can speculate and invent some intermarket explanations on how an RBA hike affects CAD but there are far too many dynamics involved. It very much depends what Asian equities are doing. If theyre say, rallying by at least 0.7& or 0.8%, the hike may help AUD and other comms currencies, therefore weighing on USDCAD

Do not try to look too far for clues on your existing position. I am optimistic that USDCAD will eventually break above 1.0740 this week.

My heartiest wishes & congrats for successfully completing one year on this Forum. (I wanted to send you a card at CMC...but unfortunately, I had been away).

And what can I say that hasn't been said before you & this Forum...so I'll just say a simple 'thanks' (& the rest, ofcourse, you know...in what sight I hold you).

God Bless & keep the good work going... :)

Ashraf,

USD/CHF is showing quite strenght but do you think it will be able to break the 1.05 level? or do you think it would be a good idea to short at this level?

Thanks for all the work you put to help us, it is greatly appreciated!
