Ryanair's outspoken boss Michael O’Leary has no truck with the notion that allowing retiring deputy chief Michael Cawley to become a non-exec breaches corporate governance best practice.
“Anyone who knows Michael knows he will be independent,” sniffs O’Leary, adding that Ryanair “complies with all the corporate governance rules, because we explain where we don’t”.
“We’re even doing our bit for gender diversity as we now have two ladies on the board,” he continues in un-PC vein. “We haven’t found a Muslim yet, but we are looking – and we’re also looking for an Afro American homosexual.”
Applicants know where to apply.

This guy is a man after my own heart, much as I dislike his product I admire his outspoken style :-)
