each one to their own - I find Index futures easier than forex to work with - atleast you have it being traded at the CME and full visibility to volume data - something you have no idea with forex.

@montmorency the PPT are always out in force using their hi-freq robots to pump the mkt late in the day and maintain an illusion of well being. Their activities use to be reported by the FED under M3, which funnily enough doesn't get reported now

@Catnip: Why do you say this? I thought trading indices was very popular. Surely someone is making money out of it ...? :-)

Possibly relevant: I have just been depressing myself looking at various You Tube videos about how the stock market is supposedly manipulated. There are some clips with Jim Cramer, but loads of others. Some even mention the Plunge Protection Team :-)

Would this be part of the reason one cannot make money with stock indices over the long run?

Just to add my 2 cents to the CL debate, until we actually manage to close below 83.17 the bulls are def in charge...the re-bound from y/day pm lows (82.4-84.4) was ample evidence of this. A break of 83.17 could easily see us re-test $78 or the longer we hold onto 84, expect another re-test of $87.5. Earnings and CPI could play a big part in determining direction

haitham, yes, pls see my IMT on oil from Monday. Technicals not looking good but oil consolidations can take long.
