i found an interesting article on BDI, they seem to think this is the bottom , as the bdi has rallied 7 days straight. Is this a proper indicator of an upturn? or possibly something else like refills of inventories?

Ashraf: I don't like your Dollar chart! The extrapolations from this confirmed Bull Move signal at Least a target of 90. IF NOT PAR! This is what commodities are spiking to the downside about. A lot of big money Including Mr. Buffet (why do you think he won't let you see his Derrivatives - he is long anything that can be shipped to China): Is trying to get out in a Big way...
In the Anatomy of a Bull Market you find FIRST IN -FIRST OUT. That is: the rally started with energy, materials, and internets. Where is the underperformance today?

Well I tried a quick short from 1196.5, but it didn't seem to be going anywhere, so I got out for nominal profit. Maybe it will fall now I'm out, but I didn't feel secure leaving it. I think It's going to 1226+ (again).

Ashraf,

Could you be little more specific which commodities are heavely cor-related to BDI that really affect S&P 500 (US) index.
