jcd, I am supportive of what the coalition govnmt are doing, or trying to do. I hated the Greenspan/Brown era of very irresponsible economic management and government and of course Bernanke inherited and Cameron inherited.

I am waiting for the cuts to start biting next year. Its much easier to talk about making cuts to our deficit than carry them through without anarchy in the streets of London, and massive unemployment is very probable. I like the power of the coalition at this particular time in our cycle but can it hold together ? I think so. I also like our BOC man Mervyn King who is old school economic management and no puppet to government like the last guy Eddie George. Greenspan was a puppet to government, did you watch M.3 during his tenure !!! Brown was a total disaster for 13 yrs, he should be hung drawn and quartered.

Nuf said or I shall start a real rant Greeny versus Brown :-(((((

Qingyo, Whenever you find a method, I would suggest journalling all your trades. When you take a trade, write down why you took the trade and study your thoughts regularly, especially your losses. After 100 of trades or so, compute your ratios. What is the % of your trades that are winners, how much money do you make on your winners, how much do you lose on your losers. When you get to app. 50% winners and make $2 for every $1 you lose, you could have durable method. Focus on your thoughts and your discipline and your pathway to net profitable will be easier.

Right on DaveO. On a more fundamental question, how do you view David C. fiscal plan/austerity. The U.K. seems to be getting their fiscal house in order, can't say the same for the U.S. Long term I like sterling.

how to determine entry is a question of transformation from continuous ( frequency) to time
( charts). Howver the better question is why care? One has to find a hedge for every trade,
for ex. AUDUSD short means USD long is hedged with USDJPY short and so on. Thus if it works perfectly your account at fx is a constant. You sell the profitable trade and keep the loss which you hedge again and so on. To find the hedges you need to have the relative strength which is
not a price but a measure of structure.

Giving back helps ourselves also, no doubt in my mind about that. I think all traders go through hell for at least 3 years with very few exceptions. It took me 5 years to reach a truly consistent b/e performance. The trading educational industry is mainly run by failed traders who know the theory but cannot practice. Its an enormous industry which largely does little favour for novices. I am told the average turnround of futures traders entering/leaving the arena is 3 months ! Forex is especially attractive to newb retail traders with the very low lot size available, low account deposits and very high leverage. A recipe for disaster one might think :-) On the other hand forex is great for being able to progress to playing multi unit trades at moderate cost.
