If indeed there is a Eurozone measure without ECB monetizing the euro will rally and gold will fall, some industry commoditiies will rally. I think however that due to PBOC continued tightening the effect on commodities will be short lived. Given PBOC is to get inflation at bay and contained the commodity rally should be over. Also this does not do well for gold. Besides we have contango in gold the last price of physical gold was 1102 and not rising, physical silver falling.

Well I did some years ago when it was cheap the price in EUR has doubled so far...
but now...the whole world at least western is bankrupt the debt is trillions and counting...
you need cash to buy gold you cannot buy gold with debt.

From the last however vague statements by Trichet the ECB does NOT consider QE
he said that wasn't discussed in the session no such topic
I think what will if at all happen is a sort of common / united treasury action but how? no idea.

QE would not stabilize EUR

@Yan Bei Fei ppl seem to be pricing in further QE by the ECB hence the strength in Gold....could poss hit 1300, but just as likely to fall to 1040 too

It's not surprising Gold has risen as much as it has, Mkts are predicting further QE from ECB more fiat
