Hi Ashraf - Not sure I understand...US consumer confidence is down and USDJPY punches through 96 hitting 96.5. Should the risk aversion trade not result in USDJPY heading towards 95 to 94 region?

Thx

raj, but does end of quarter balancing necessarily mean higher USDJPY? who knows. anyway, GBPUSD shooting start looking increasingly valid as the body shrinks in size.

Ashraf,
i just go for long USDJPY becoz of some bullish indication in Bollinger Bands and market taking support at 9500 level for quite long time. And from fundamental point of view its just quarter end Dollar Buying from fund managers around the world to close their book. The time frame will should not be a long and from my point of view it will take just next couple of days. And offcourse my position is guarded by my stop around 9502.
And one thing, I just love your website...it helps me a lot in FOREX trading....thanks for your effort and all the forum members.
regards,
Rajib.

raj, im not sure why you anticipated USDJPY to reach as high 97.80 and not sure about your timeframe. I still stick with short USDJPY as i said its a win-win strategy as USD falls on risk appetite but also remains down vs JPY when risk appertite declines. good luck

Ashraf,
is there any possibility for USDJPY to reach 9800 level if 9503 not taken out?

rajib.

hi everybody...

i think that Mr Ashraf was right about his observation that USDJPY will bottom in the second half in June ,but the dilemma is "when"?? .. i knew about the cycle of the USDJPY and he was right but there is a factor of variation about 7 or less days backward or forward that the peak or trough my occurred in ...
i think also that the pair is up till now is suspected that if can continue or not ... it all about the upward momentum to break the neckline in the 1hour scale .....

i need to know Mr Ashraf's opinion about my view ...
thanks ....

thomas, considering the cycle set-up for USDJPY, it does not look like we'll see 96.90 next week. bounces perhaps reaching 95.90s but seems will test 94.50s and even 93.80s. so be nimble
