Euro's Dead Cross

EURUSD's downtrend is now confirmed after its 50-day MA has fallen below its 100-day MA, strengthening the bearish technical signal with an already deteriorating fundamental foundation.

ROb, great !

montmo. thats a longer debate for another day (if EUR is better off in long term when PIIGs drop off) but right now any sign of country exiting Ezone would be ugly for EUR.

siraj, yes patience is great w/in reason.

Thanks Ashraf - a good call on AUD/JPY and GBP/USD this morning, I recovered my yesterdays loss, which I took because of my impatience, patience is virtue in every aspect of life.....

I wonder if the Euro would be stronger if certain countries WERE kicked out of it...
(not that I see it happening, either).

Yes Ashraf - made money with EUR/USD and EUR/JPY today!  pips!! Thanks so much - I was able to sell (well buy really) and get back in for another leg down - I'm still holding shorts with stops in case we get a bounce before Asia---

sometimes it's tough when you can't keep your eyes peeled on the market every second. But still worked out thanks to seeing your calls on Twitter - you so deserve the Shorty Award! Thank you so very much!

Rob, you did not tell me whether you made some money today. I called 1.5820 cable last night (8hrs before BoE decision when it was at 15880). yesterday called USDJPY today EURUSD AUDJPY and EURJPY. do NOT stick with pairs that are oversold or overbought.

chloe, may see bounce in EURCAD but depeneds how badly they miss. bounce would have to be closed promptly.

aviat, ill leave out the philos debate for now and see 1.32 but no nation will be kicked out of eurozone.

Ashraf:

Thanks for the great posts and twits. A few months ago I had commented on the forums that the Euro will face an existentialist issue and its status as a reserve currency will come under pressure. We are seeing some of those canaries sing now.

From your perch, how bad do you see the crisis become? This is a sovereign macro issue and may take a long time to play out but what is the end game you see here?

Thank You
