"the fundamentals stay in place .... "
:))
Catnip, you are kidding me. And you base your trades on such broad setups?
I suggest you'd better go teach students fundamental analysis and stop trading.

I don't go for pips hunting imo in the long run scalpers don't make profit. I trade either range or fundamental change. And for that I don't see a setup.

@Boli - I agree it depends on your T/frame of trading. I know some excellent short term scalpers who only use 1 or 2min charts and TA to get in an out of posn's and tend to make money with proper risk mgmt. I don't deny TA has it's place....the confusion is when ppl on this forum overly rely on it w/out doing their own analysis. i.e as in with Ashraf recently.

@Gunjack

Ok, TA does not always work. I personally use only basic chart analysis and base my trades on sentiment. I am a contrarian trader.
But I also found that fundamental analysis (on which Catnip bases his expectations) is not better than TA in the short to mid term.
So everyone has to find his own approach.

I'm gonna come out in support of Catnip. He is one of the interesting posters here. Too many ppl here cannot function without TA...when we all know it's a scam...mkts are random in the short term and any sort of TA can be used to fit any mkt situation...tho funnily only when the situation has passed!!! I use a small smattering of TA to compliment fund analysis which is all that matters in long run anyway.
