if current trends continue my back of envelope calculation shows that 73 in DX would approximate 1.49 level in EUR ..

Have I missed the party?.. monster green 4h candles in all charts against US$.. capitulation in progress.. does anyone still have any US$ to sell? big picture DX monthly still offers some hope for a reversal in May if above 73.. "sell in May and go away" might also provide some support..

MNI FX Bullets' on changes in FOMC statement:

12:32 04/27
FED-early FOMC stmt: No change in $600b QE2 thru June or rates (FF still
targeted 0-1/4%), keeps 'extended pd' and will 'reg review' portfolio.
Language alterations say labor mkt 'improving gradually' but drops econ
on 'firmer footing' - now says recovery 'proceeding at mod pace.'

Again mentions commods/oil but not Japan; adds a bit more talk on inflation
('has picked up') but expects rise 'to be transitory'. Will pay close
attention to infl/expectations, and sees underlying infl as 'still
subdued'. Unemployment 'remains elevated'. Fed will continue to monitor
outlook. Vote 10-0.

Ashraf

Just interested to learn your view why there have been no dissenters, and why "extended period" has been retained while "inflation" mentioned 11 times?

Yeah, DX weekly showing downtrend continuing in a large wedge pattern, ie. price ranges contracting, whereas daily now showing megaphone pattern, ie. lower lows and higher highs.. this is a clear price action to me, so view it as a broken watch or not, but it might be that time of the day to take a bet on cycle changing..
