Speculators' Futures FX Positions

The weekly figures on traders' futures commitments obtained from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange's International Monetary Market shed valuable light on the developing flows pursuing one currency versus another.

FXHandler. :) Appreciated your feedback thanks. Just getting a poll. I have some skin in the game. Curious. How you see the upcoming election affecting NOK? A change in leadership may open up new areas in the north to oil drilling?

Handler, do you mean LONG NOK/JPY? it may be a long term buy but technically, the chart shows a declining channel, on its way to 15.

Steven,
I told you weeks ago that GBP/NOK will end at 9,22. be patiened man.
Ashraf, do you see a good place to short JPY/NOK? Yen is very strong now, "killing" all currencies.... I see some good oportunities now, but I should wait... right?

steve, GBPNOK could hit 10 but i strongly see this heading down towards 9.2 near year-end. Best to approach this as a long term play.

Hi Ashraf,

I saw your Cantos presentation on EURGBP which is good as im currently long this pair. I'd appreciate your thought on how you see GBPNOK going for the rest of the year. Its a volatile pair and i have had a face peel a couple of times with it.

Thanks again Ashraf

Steven, Aussie longs at 0.78 will have to be of relatively long term positioning as Id imagine that once we reach 0.78, the prevailing risk aversion would be powerful.

Hi Ashraf,

Curious about your projections for GBPNOK. The pair has been in a lovely downtrend for a few months and it looks like its still got more downside. 9700 seem too conservative?

Also would you be looking at sub 8000 levels in purchasing AUSUSD? Say 7800? It may go lower though.

Best,
Steven

Thx, A.L.

JMX - Some traders use ATR as a key to changes in volume, looking for 10% changes in the reading on any long green or red candles.
