The weekly figures on traders' futures commitments obtained from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange's International Monetary Market shed valuable light on the developing flows pursuing one currency versus another.

One of the most bullish starling where -walls forgo -they where forecasting GBP/USD at 1.8 by the third quarter but they revised there forecast to 1.58. Deutsche bank forecast 1.50 by the end of the third quarter

From Bloomberg
Sterling will weaken to $1.53 over the next three months, according to Stannard. The median of 33 analyst forecasts compiled by Bloomberg is for the currency to end the third quarter at $1.59

whats your view on gbp based on these figures? specs havent gone long, yet mkt moving higher.

interesting..goldman is predicing dollar strength over the next 12 months purely on fundamentals, according to bloomberg, currencies.

with regards to the specs in yen, maybe the build up was in anticipation of the head and shoulders formation that hasent materialized and therefore we might see them cover all the way up to 97. ala the s & p.

wolf, this could go either way depending on payrolls. but something tells me traders cannot take USDJPY above 97.20
